The first information on the performance of Radeon RX 5500 graphics card are here

With the release of the Radeon Navi gaming graphics card generation, AMD has brought the new 7nm RDN architecture of graphics processors, which at first glance is better than previous GCNs in terms of lower power consumption energy and achieving higher functional frequencies, reports Wccftech.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Last month AMD introduced a model based on the Radeon RX 5500 Navi, which should replace the current RX 570 and RX 580 Polaris models. Although this card has not yet been launched in the market, the first unofficial results have been unveiled. They show that the RX 5500 achieves the performance level of the RX 580, reaching 12111 points in the 3D Fire Strike test (RX 580 – 12,744; GeForce GTX 1660 – 12525).

In terms of consumption, Radeon RX 5500 significantly reduces the amount of power it needs, which consumes 133W when loaded into games, which is significantly lower than the RX 580’s (207W) consumption, and is almost equal while competing with GTX 1660 (128W) model.

In terms of gaming performance, the results were as follows:

  • 1080p Tomb Raider – RX 5500 offers 59 fps, RX580 65 fps, and GTX 1660 69 fps.
  • In the 1080p Far Cry 5 test, the RX 5500 reaches 72 fps, the RX 580 75 fps, and the GTX 1660 85 fps.

As we can see, the new “mainstream” representative Radeon Navi marks a significant reduction in consumption, providing almost the same level of performance as Polaris’ predecessor. The launch of the new RX 5500 is scheduled for next month.

Increased the smartphone sales on Europe: How Samsung, Huawei, Apple and Xiaomi are compared

Europe prevented smartphone sales from stagnating by 8% compared to last year.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The data comes from Canalys, which puts the aging continent at the top of the stats, leaving Asia and the Pacific with a 6% increase.

Samsung was the big winner. The South Korean producer posted a 26% increase from a year earlier. Samsung’s rise comes as the manufacturer floods the market with several phone models where the best-selling are those of the Galaxy A budget series.

Huawei retained a second place as the company refocused in the face of US and Chinese tensions. The company had 22.2% of Europe’s market share over Samsung with 35.7%. Xiaomi also rose 73%, by risking Apple‘s position in Europe.

Like the rest of the world, European markets are looking ahead to 5G technology which will boost smartphone sales as new components are needed to make use of it.

SSD drives are entering in the era of terabytes (TB) models

SSD drives are entering in the era of terabytes (TB) models

The ultimate protective wall of mechanical hard drives (HDD) before much faster and safer NAND flash technology is the high capacity and the lowest cost per GB of disc space. However, even this wall is slowly collapsing as the technology of flash memory production is advancing day by day.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The moment when hard drives will be permanently placed on museum shelves is approaching, as the latest Hynix news confirms that this will happen much sooner than most of us expect, reports ITHome.

SK Hynix, one of the world’s leading memory manufacturers, has launched the first pre-production models of 128-layer 4D NAND memory based SSDs. The test products have been delivered to the major Hynix partners for the purpose of testing their performance characteristics, namely 1 TB flash drive, 2 TB SSD drive so-called client device, which we all use today on PC and SSD models designed for the business environment, with a capacity of up to 16 TB.

SK Hynix has begun mass production of 128-layer 1Tb TLC NAND chips this June. This month has delivered the first UFS 3.1 terabyte modules for the needs of mobile phone manufacturers based on 128-layer 4D NAND technology. As current models of 1 TB SSDs require the use of a large number of chips, with the new SK Hynix memory the number of chips needed has been halved. Also, the physical dimensions have been reduced because they are only 1mm thin and are therefore ideal for use on 5G ultra-thin smartphone models.

It is assumed that mobile phones with the next generation of flash memory will appear on the market in the second half of next year.

Dynamic E-mail in Gmail, what does it means for users?

Dynamic E-mail in Gmail, what does it means for users?

Google has updated the Gmail app for iOS and Android with support for AMP technology, giving users the ability to interact with emails as if they were dynamic web pages without having to open an external browser.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The feature rolled out on Friday and comes after a presentation in July. Google gives some examples of what this innovation can be used for.

The search engine says you can use it to RSVP to events, manage subscriptions or respond to comments on Google Docs without sending an individual email.

So the feature makes it possible for emails to be updated dynamically, which means it’s hard to come up with outdated information. Even though Google is the one promoting the use of AMP, other companies are also supporting it. Microsoft for example has launched AMP support for Outlook.com

2020 Lexus UX 300e

Lexus unveiled its first electric car: Lexus 300e UX

Lexus UX 300e made its debut at the auto show in Guangzhou, China, and the Chinese market will be the first to receive this model. In addition to China, the UX 300e will be sold in Japan as well as in Europe.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Lexus 300e UX, with an electric motor drives the front axle and delivers 150 kW (204 HP) on the road. The Japanese manufacturer has made minor changes to improve the car’s aerodynamics, so UX 300e is 20mm lower than the regular petrol version, and the car is fitted with special, more aerodynamic wheels.

The Crossover bodywork has also been redesigned to reduce air resistance to movement and increase driving autonomy.

Instead of gasoline, a 204-horsepower electric motor is mounted on this car. Electricity is stored on 54.3 kWh lithium-ion batteries, which provide 400km of autonomy, measured against the old cycle, NEDC, while the results of a more realistic WLTP test are yet to be expected.

With empty batteries, it takes about 50 minutes to fully recharge on a 50 kW fast charger, while the charging process on a 6.6-kilowatt outlet takes about 7 hours. The batteries are located under the rear seats, leaving the luggage compartment unchanged from the regular Lexus UX.

Using a smartphone app, Lexus drivers can read the battery level and view information about the nearest charging stations. Additionally, can be done automatic climate control, heated seats and windows, all of which can be adjusted by the app.

As Lexus has already confirmed, the UX 300e will be available in Europe next year. What the price of the electric car will be, it’s still unclear.
