Instagram is working on getting access to location data even when the application is closed to share with the parent company, Facebook. Of course for advertising reasons.

Data, which may include accurate GPS user coordinates, will be shared with Facebook to help it serve in personalized ads, according to TechCrunch.

Although it is still in the prototype stages, the news of this change has worsened fears that Instagram is taking the lead from its parent company, Facebook, following personal user data.

This action comes just days after Instagram’s founders, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, resigned from the company.

So, as the issue of personal online exposure is going, let’s get the handset and everything else to live related to technology down a cliff as it used to be. At least privacy would not be lacking.
