At Computex, Qualcomm and Lenovo announced the first Windows 10 computer with the 5G connection.

It was built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G platform, which was announced for the first time at the Mobile World Congress this year.

The processor includes the Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which opens up some new options compared to the older X50. There is no need for a 4G LTE secondary modem.

The X55 supports download speeds up to 2.5Gbps for category 22 LTE, so you are always connected.

“In Lenovo, we do not make innovations for the sake of technology. All we do is improve people’s experience, “said Johnson Jia, senior vice president and general manager, at Lenovo.

“With real 5G on a PC, everything is to satisfy the user’s need for speeds: faster file transfers and streams in 4K, 8K and even AR/VR; fastest and best-quality video conversations on the screen; 5G PC users in the world will save time, will be productive and will take online entertainment almost anywhere, anytime. ”

Snapdragon 8cx was announced at Snapdragon Tech Summit, promising extreme performance.

It intends to compete with Intel’s Core i5, and will not be sold until the end of the year. It is also the world’s first 7nm laptops, packing eight Kryo 495 cores and an Adreno 680 GPU.
