ADATA XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD

ADATA XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD reaches read speed of 7 GB/s

During the CES 2020, ADATA introduced the XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD, which uses the Innogrit Rainier controller (IG5236). The above controller can support up to 16TB of storage and use an eight-channel interface.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Although Innogrit is an unfamiliar name (compared to Phison’s most commonly used controllers), the performance it offers is at a high level. The ADATA CrystalDisk benchmark shows sequential read and write performance of 7.2 GB/sec and close to 5.4 GB/sec for XPS Sage.

According to the Tom’s Hardware site, which was able to test the XPG Sage, ADATA also highlights random IOPS speeds of 1,000,000 and 800,000 for data read and write, respectively. Additionally, it is suggested that sequential speeds of 6 GB/sec can be easily achieved with some firmware changes before SSDs go into mass production.

Other features of the SSD ADATA XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD include 4GB of DRAM cache, integrated heat conductors, and SSDs up to 4TB capacity. It is expected that the XPG Sage will not be released before June.

MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G

MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G chipset for mid-range phones officially announced

MediaTek Dimensity 800 Series is an octa-core SoC featuring four ARM Cortex-A76 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores.

Taiwanese company Mediatek introduced the Dimensity 800 chipset at the CES 2020. Created in the 7nm process, the chip enables 5G connectivity on phones. The first phones with this chipset will be on the market before the end of the first half of the year, as promised by Mediatek, reports GSMArena.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Dimensity 800 series 5G chips support 2CC, which offers over 30% more coverage than other platforms with 1CC or no aggregation. The chipset is designed to support the SA and NSA sub-6GHz networks, for 2G to 5G multi-mode support and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS).

The CPU has four Cortex-A76 @2GHz cores and four more efficient Cortex-A55 cores, which also run at 2GHz. The graphics chip is from the same class as the Dimensity 1000, and is combined with a technology called HyperEngine, which improves hardware performance during gaming.

The ISP Dimensity 800 chip supports sensors up to 64MP or 32MP + 16MP dual camera. MediaTek has implemented algorithms for AI autofocus, auto exposure, white balance, noise reduction and HDR.

TCL Revealed 10 Series Smartphones: Comes With 5G and Four Rear Cameras

TCL 10 Pro, TCL 10 5G and TCL 10L make an appearance at CES 2020

Intel: Future H Series CPUs will have speeds of over 5GHz

But we’re still waiting on more details.

During the CES 2020, Intel made a very ambitious statement: the company plans to exceed 5GHz with the next-generation 10th-generation Core i7 H-series, intended for laptops, reports Engadget.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

This will make the processors even faster than the current model from the Core i9 H – 9980HK series, which offers up to 5GHz maximum. On the other hand, it’s not surprising that Intel is keen to exceed those speeds, but it’s interesting that it does so with the lower i7 line. This means that models from the i9 line will potentially be even faster.

In addition, the company claims that the 10th generation H-series processors will have better scalability in its eight cores, which should allow for further performance improvements.

Intel did not want to release more details about the upcoming processors, but more is expected in the coming days.
