Firefox 70 Brings a New Logo and Higher Security

Mozilla launched Firefox 70 bringing security indicators for HTTP and HTTPS sites as well as a new privacy report showing how many times the Enhanced Tracking Protection feature has blocked third-party tracking, cookies, and cryptocurrencies.

The company says it has blocked 450 billion trackers since July and the number has grown significantly since the debut of Firefox 69 that automatically activated the feature.

If Firefox users want to see which specific ad firms are tracking then, they can click the shield icon and go to the “Blocked” option to see which cookies are blocked.

With Firefox 70 sites also show a green icon for HTTPS sites and a red icon for HTTP sites letting us know if we are browsing over a secure protocol or not.

What’s more, this release brings performance improvements for Firefox on macOS and Mozilla says it has reduced its speed consumption by 22%.

Finally the new browser addresses 14 security issues.

Mozilla launched the paid version of Firefox, how much will it cost?

Nobody likes advertising and Firefox will use it as an excuse. On Friday, Mozilla announced the arrival of a premium version of Firefox without ads, but it would cost $5 a month.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

On the Mozilla website, the premium version will go to support “sites you love and avoid advertising that you hate.” Mozilla says she has collaborated with some of the world’s largest publishers so that the $5 you spend is shared directly with news sites.

Especially they make money, Mozilla makes money and ads on these websites are eliminated on mobile and desktop platforms.

Non-ads experience appears to be the result of a partnership between Mozilla and Scroll, a service that offers non-ads websites like BuzzFeed and USA Today. In addition to browsing without ads, Mozilla also promises some additional options. For beginners, Firefox’s premium version gives you access to the audio versions of the items and can synchronize the bookmark on some devices.

All this is part of a wider effort to explore new financing ways without being dependent on advertising. In February Mozilla detailed the project in a blog post. It remains to be seen how users will react to a no-ads premium browser, especially after Google’s new attempt to block advertisements.

Firefox is Coming With a New Paid Version Soon

Firefox is Coming With a New Paid Version Soon

Mozilla Firefox is one of the best browsers available today, but Mozilla’s CEO Chris Beard implied that a paid Firefox version would soon be available.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

This paid version will probably include premium plug-ins, cloud space, and integrated VPN. October is seen as a possible debut.

Bard also said that anything that exists today in Firefox, including increased tracking controls, will remain free. The premium version will be for those looking for something more.

Currently, Mozilla makes money from Firefox through partnerships with search engines like Google or Pocket connectivity applications, but company executives are confident of adding a new source of revenue.

With Chrome, Safari and Edge, which offer all-in-one improvements, Mozilla knows it has to work harder to keep Firefox among the best browsers.

This year, Firefox did not stay in the same place at all, bringing more control over privacy and more performance. The great collection of Firefox plug-ins is another reason to use the browser as the main one.

With the new version Firefox will become much faster

Firefox got a significant increase in browsing speeds last year with the Quantum model debut and now will become even faster.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Firefox’s latest version gives priority to performance, boosting browsing speeds from 40 to 80%. The browser will now stop unused tabs, too little scripts, and all unnecessary work during launch.

Also, this version brings some new privacy features including digital footprint protection and a blocker of scripts for digging of cryptocoins.

Private browsing will now be customized. You do not have to manually set up passwords whenever you open a page when you are browsing privately. Websites will store passwords as in normal browsing.

On the other hand, users can decide what addons they want to activate and which not when they are browsing privately.

Other new features are a streamlined AV1 format for streaming video and a WebRender update that will make browsing seem faster and more efficient. You can download the latest version of Firefox from this link. Or update directly from the browser.
