Top 5 Features that Justify the “Salty” Price of the Galaxy S20 Ultra

Even Apple’s most expensive iPhone model is $1,100

Samsung Galaxy S20 may be considered an anomaly for the smartphone world. Starting at $1,400, it’s one of the most expensive phones you can buy. Neither Apple itself, a company known for its salty prices, has not set the iPhone prices starting at $1,400.

The most expensive iPhone model is $1,100. But what makes the Galaxy S20 Ultra so expensive?

1. The Big Screen

The Galaxy S20 Ultra has a massive 6.9-inch display compared to the 6.7-inch Galaxy S20 Plus and the 6.2-inch Galaxy S20. But aside from the size, the Galaxy S20 Ultra screen is not different from the standard Galaxy S20 and mid-range Galaxy S20 Plus screens.

2. Big Battery

Simple at all, big phone means big battery. The Galaxy S20 Ultra has a giant 5,000 mAh battery while the Galaxy S20 Plus has 4,500 mAh and S20 4,000 mAh. It is true that the size of the battery is not everything because there are various factors that affect and that eliminate the differences. The Galaxy S20 Plus has a smaller battery but also a smaller screen leading to approximate battery life.

3. 108-Megapixel Camera

The Galaxy S20 Ultra’s main camera is 108-megapixels compared to 12-megapixels on the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus.

Not always the phone capture 108-megapixels. It actually collects 108-megapixels to produce 12-megapixel photos for most of the photos. But users can choose to use 108-megapixels whenever they want. The latter mainly applies to low light environments.

4. 100x Optical Zoom

The Galaxy S20 Ultra’s zoom lens consists of a mirror prism that produces 10x optical zoom. Optical zoom means that there is no loss of quality and detail. The 10x is impressive given that most smartphones are at 3x. With digital zoom this lens goes up to 100x but the quality of these photos is normally very far.

5. 40-Megapixel Selfie Camera

Samsung has distinguished the S20 Ultra from the S20 Plus and S20 in the 40-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera of the other two is only 10-megapixels. Normally with this camera S20 Ultra users can capture super detailed selfie images even in low light.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Family Unpacked: Beautifully Executed Premium Android Phones With Space Zoom Cameras

The world will most likely never know the Galaxy S11, nor the Galaxy S12 even the Galaxy S19. On Tuesday morning in San Francisco Samsung unveiled the new flagship Galaxy S20.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

It comes in three models: S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. With these models Samsung showed that it did not mind moving away from the high-end segment of phones even though smartphone sales were beginning to decline.

With prices starting at $999, $1199 and $1399 respectively, the company is betting heavily on those customers who are willing to pay for premium specifications.

By paying such a digits consumers get a phone with the technology of the future, 5G. All three models actually have 5G, a year after introducing the first 5G device. In 2020 Samsung has laid everything in the direction of 5G. The S10, Note 10 and Lite variants will continue to stay on the market at a lower price.

Another equally important feature of the Galaxy S20 is the 120Hz display and high frequency response to touch commands. In all models, consumers get a selfie “hole-punch” at the top of the screen.

Everything on the cameras

But the biggest news comes in the photographic aspect. The company uses the term “pro” to describe the phone’s camera. All three models have massive modules but the Ultra variant belongs to another level. The S20+ and Ultra have the Space Zoom camera with three rear cameras. In the Ultra variant, the 48-megapixel lens offers 100x optical and hybrid zoom. Normally during zooming there is image degradation but what the phone achieves is impressive.

But the innovations don’t end there because it delivers 8K 24fps recording as well as “hyper-laps” in Night Time mode. The combined cameras produce 50 to 70MB images. Another technology of the S20 Ultra camera is to reduce the image from 108-megapixel to 12-megapixel and use the large amount of light entering the sensor.

Bixby is there. The virtual assistant stays on one of the side buttons but with the Note 10 this button can be switched on. The technology made an appearance as a result of a partnership with Spotify which brings popular music to the Bixby Routines platform.

Another surprise announcement was the partnership with Google. The software giant will provide the Google Duo video calling platform to integrate into the Samsung interface and the call and contacts app similar to Apple FaceTime integration.

The S20 is the first phone to offer full HD talk over a 5G network. Another equally important partnership is that of Microsoft. The company will bring Forza Street to the Galaxy Store in Spring.

In terms of internal specs the S20 has 4,000 mAh battery, S20+ 4,500 mAh battery and Ultra at 5,000 mAh. The system includes a Snapdragon 865 processor along with 12GB of RAM and a minimum of 128GB of internal storage.

The phone can be ordered from February 21 and will sell on March 6.
