HP Omen 25L & 30L Gaming PCs

HP Omen 25L & 30L Gaming PCs Come with new Design, Better Cooling, Intel and AMD

A noticeable improvement is in the airflow system

Gaming PCs from major manufacturers continue to be respected by gaming fans for several reasons and one of them beyond performance is designs. It is precisely this direction that HP has decided to choose with the new redesigned Omen line. The new Omen 25L and 30L models come with new cases although not as enthusiastic as the previous models, have higher performance and the luxury of adaptation and configuration in different options.

A noticeable improvement is in the airflow system.  All the new Omens are on feet that raise the system 15mm off the ground or a desk, which will improve air circulation while the graphics card is placed higher in the case for thermal efficiency.

There are two cooling systems offered by the new Omen line, air cooling system and liquid cooling system. HP says the new case improves performance by 8 to 26 percent.

Inside there is movement as well. The Omen series comes with the 10th generation of Intel processors including the flagship Core i9-10900K model or even AMD variants like the Ryzen 9 3900 with 12 cores. Graphics cards are what you’d expect for a gaming computer like the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Western Digital has supplied the computer with SSD M.2 while Cooler Master with a 750-watt power supply.

The new desktops PCs goes on sale on May 5 with the Omen 25L starting at $900. The Omen 30L with the largest ventilation system starts at $1,200

HP has also accompanied them with a monitor such as the 27-inch Omen 27i 1440p, 165Hz IPS model. It is compatible with G-Sync technology and sells for $500.

Snapdragon 865

Snapdragon 865, the 2020’s most powerful phone processor will not have 5G

Qualcomm officially introduced the processor for next year’s flagship phones, the Snapdragon 865, though the processor needs a separate modem just like its predecessor the Snapdragon 855 for 5G technology.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Simply put, phones will be more expensive and power hungry than an integrated solution.

Along with the Snapdragon 865, Qualcomm introduced a downstream processor, the Snapdragon 765 which will have a built-in 5G modem. But it will be less powerful than the Snapdragon 865.

For months, Qualcomm has been promising chips and processors with integrated 5G modem. Even in September it said it would bring one of the 700 series with 5G integrated. But the surprise is that the company has chosen not to offer its most powerful processor with 5G. Snapdragon 865 will offer 5G technology just like the Snapdragon 855 with a separate 5G modem which will follow the Snapdragon X55.

In fact if a company wants the Snapdragon 865 processor, it will have to include the 5G modem that comes as a package. As a result, companies can’t produce phones with Snapdragon 865 and 4G processors.

With the Snapdragon 765 coming with 5G built-in, we expect to see some mid-range 5G phones. What Qualcomm would reveal with the Snapdragon 865 would set expectations for future flagships such as the Galaxy S11, OnePlus 8, Pixel 5, Galaxy Note 11, LG G9 and more.

Snapdragon 865 can be combined with the Snapdragon X55 Modem, which is a descendant of the X50 Modem and offers a new and more efficient processor. The X55 also offers theoretically higher download/upload speeds and supports SA/NSA networks. The X55 modem will support both mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G networks with improved traffic.

Another interesting announcement from Qualcomm was the new finger sensor in-display technology, dubbed 3D Sonic Max. The new fingerprint reader has a larger detection area, and also enables users to double-finger verify (for example, with two thumbs). The scanner’s accuracy has also improved significantly.

Xiaomi's 108-megapixel smartphone comes to Europe as Mi Note 10

Xiaomi’s 108-megapixel smartphone comes to Europe as Mi Note 10

Yesterday, Xiaomi unveiled Mi CC9 Pro, the first 108-megapixel camera phone the company has developed in collaboration with Samsung.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The bad news is that the Mi CC9 Pro will not be sold outside of China. The good news is that Xiaomi has introduced an almost identical model called the Mi Note 10 which will be sold internationally.

Mi Note 10 was introduced in Spain and will be sold in Britain and other European countries. From the published information, there is no difference in hardware between the two phones except the Mi Note 10 will have Google applications.

Xiaomi usually puts different names on the same phones to distinguish between Chinese and international models. The concrete case is the K20 / K20 Pro model in China that is sold globally as the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro.

Here are the full specifications of MI Note 10:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor
  • 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory
  • 5 rear cameras: 108-megapixel f/1.69 wide, 12-megapixel f/2 2x telephoto, 5-megapixel f/2 5x telephoto, 20-megapixel f/2.2 super wide, and 2-megapixel macro.
  • 32-megapixel selfie camera
  • 6.47-inch OLED display with built-in fingerprint scanner
  • 5,260 mAh battery with
  • 30W fast charging
  • USB-C and 3.5mm headphone port

Mi Note 10 won’t be as fast as the Snapdragon 855 included in the Redmi K20 but the rest of the phone is worth considering. The CC9 Pro starts at $400 in China while the Mi Note 10 will cost $549.
