Red, a cinematography camera manufacturing company has announced that they are launching a brand new smartphone called the RED Hydrogen One. This is the world’s first Holographic phone.

The Red Hydrogen One is a standalone full-featured, unlocked multi-band smartphone operating on Android OS that just happens to add a few additional features that shatter the mold of conventional thinking.

The processor inside will be a slightly out-of-date Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, but it seemed fast enough in the few demos I was able to try. Honestly, though, if you’re looking to get this thing just as a phone, you’re probably making your decision based on the wrong metrics. It’s probably going to be a perfectly capable phone, but at this price, what you’re buying into is the module ecosystem.

GLASSES OBSOLETE

Wearable display not spoken here. It is no longer necessary to carry (or charge) another device to enjoy the multi-dimensional content. Experience “look around depth” in the palm of your hand, no glasses or headsets in sight.

Prices for the Hydrogen One start at $1,195 for the aluminum variant, or $1,595 for the more premium titanium version.
