There are currently no news on the graphics card in question from AMD, but as of the launch date it is mentioned December 12th, which is in line with previous expectations and represents a complete GPU launch where AMD partners will ‘publish their own graphics card versions.

AMD Radeon RX 5500 should compete with the NVIDIA GTX 1660, and replace the AMD RX 570, RX 580 and RX 590 graphics cards in product lines. The Navi 14 chip is based on TSMC’s 7nm production process, has 22 compute RDNA units (1408 stream processors) and a 128-bit GDDR6 memory bus.

When it comes to VRAM, it will be available in 4GB or 8GB video memory, which offers 14 Gbps or 224 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The GPU working clock is 1670MHz “Boost” and 1845MHz “Gaming”.

The first information on the performance of Radeon RX 5500 graphics card are here

With the release of the Radeon Navi gaming graphics card generation, AMD has brought the new 7nm RDN architecture of graphics processors, which at first glance is better than previous GCNs in terms of lower power consumption energy and achieving higher functional frequencies, reports Wccftech.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Last month AMD introduced a model based on the Radeon RX 5500 Navi, which should replace the current RX 570 and RX 580 Polaris models. Although this card has not yet been launched in the market, the first unofficial results have been unveiled. They show that the RX 5500 achieves the performance level of the RX 580, reaching 12111 points in the 3D Fire Strike test (RX 580 – 12,744; GeForce GTX 1660 – 12525).

In terms of consumption, Radeon RX 5500 significantly reduces the amount of power it needs, which consumes 133W when loaded into games, which is significantly lower than the RX 580’s (207W) consumption, and is almost equal while competing with GTX 1660 (128W) model.

In terms of gaming performance, the results were as follows:

  • 1080p Tomb Raider – RX 5500 offers 59 fps, RX580 65 fps, and GTX 1660 69 fps.
  • In the 1080p Far Cry 5 test, the RX 5500 reaches 72 fps, the RX 580 75 fps, and the GTX 1660 85 fps.

As we can see, the new “mainstream” representative Radeon Navi marks a significant reduction in consumption, providing almost the same level of performance as Polaris’ predecessor. The launch of the new RX 5500 is scheduled for next month.

Radeon RX 5500

Radeon RX 5500 is the new king of 1080p gaming?

According to information recently released on the Radeon RX 5500 graphics card promotional material, among other things, it is reported that this cheaper AMD Navi technology derivative is 49% faster than the GeForce GTX1650 in AAA games, so it leaves behind the GeForce GTX 1650 with 37% on the most popular eSports titles.

AMD Radeon RX 5500 according to some performance claims should be similar to the newer GeForce GTX 1650 Super model with 384 CUDA processors and faster GDDR6 video memory version.

Recall that AMD recently introduced the Radeon RX 5500 as a new model in the “mainstream” gaming class, which will inherit the Radeon RX 580/RX 590, but has yet to announce the exact date when it will go on sale.

Priority is given to large OEM system integrators, and only then to individual buyers. Nvidia will launch its new model for this segment of the gaming market – the GeForce GTX 1650, on November 22, so it is likely that the same period is expected for the release of the AMD Radeon RX 5500.
