The 5G connection works with both mmWave and Sub-6, it will have multi-gigabit and Wi-Fi 6.and supports Bluetooth 5.1 The audio and camera experience has also been improved, while the “Aqstic” system cancels out echoes and noises to dim the outside environment. As for the camera, the processor aims to bring better performance to the PC, as it can support recording up to 4K HDR and cameras up to 32MP.

Two 4K screens can be supported with a single USB-C cable. Qualcomm’s AI Engine will also be included in AI options such as “accelerated eye contact” in video calls and others will be used for business meetings.

Qualcomm did not explain the improvements compared to the previous generation but is more interested in comparing it to Intel processors. Specifically, it claims that the 8cx Gen 2 has the same performance as a 10th generation Intel Core i5 chip.

In terms of mobile connectivity, the 8cx Gen 2 has the same X24 LTE and X55 5G modem as the first model, but it remains in the hands of the device manufacturer what to put and what to leave. Although the first 8cx model debuted in December 2018, the first 5G laptops only started coming this year. As for the 8cx Gen 2, Qualcomm says we will see the first devices starting this year with the Acer Spin 7, Acer’s first 5G laptop.

Samsung has chosen a different path, of a 5G laptop with 11th generation Intel processor and the company’s own 5G modem.

Snapdragon 865 Plus, the first mobile processor that breaks the 3Ghz barrier

Flagship smartphone prices may go up

Most of the new 5G smartphones debuted this year have the Snapdragon 865 processor, but that’s already a thing of the past. Qualcomm has introduced a new mobile chip, the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

It’s a bit faster than the previous generation, and despite the modest improvements, you can expect smartphone manufacturers to adopt it for 5G phones. What differentiates the Snapdragon 865 Plus is the new Kryo 585 processor core which has a maximum frequency of 3.1Ghz. In other words, it is 10% higher than the Snapdragon 865.

Snapdragon 865 Plus has new graphics known as Adreno 650, 10% faster than Adreno 640 graphics. Finally, the new processor comes with Wi-Fi speeds up to 3.6Gbps.

Its architecture remains unchanged. It has 8 processor cores and a 5G X55 modem. Last year the Snapdragon 855 Plus model appeared mainly on gaming phones like the Asus ROG Phone II and Nubia Red Magic 3.

This year’s processor that brings 5G technology has been criticized for raising the price of smartphones to $1,000. The Snapdragon 865 Plus risks sending costs even higher.

Qualcomm launched the new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, which boosts video games

This processor comes as the mid-life update of Snapgragon 855, which was quite powerful.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The increase in performance is not so great, but it’s enough to please those who play video games, as they will be much more empowered. All this is enabled after a new core is installed, the Kryo 485 CPU Prime, which works at 2.96GHz, about four percent more than the previous version.

The Adreno 640 GPU is also in the processor, which is 15 percent faster than the current version. With this processor, it will be possible to use the 5G network as well as battery backup.

Many users will not even notice these changes, but these may be suitable for video game players who are eager for faster processors.

Samsung to produce the Snapdragon 865 processo

Samsung to produce the Snapdragon 865 processor

The Samsung EUV 7nm production process has brought a number of major contracts to South Korean company.

Qualcomm chose Samsung to create the Snapdragon 865 processor, skipping TSMC.

The deal has not yet been completed, but according to sources it is in the final phase.

TSMC was the Qualcomm Snapdragon choice for the 845 and 855 processors of 7nm, which took over this role from Samsung after the company produced 820 and 835 processors.

Qualcomm believes that the Samung EUV 7nm process is more advanced than the 7th TSMC process. Previously appeared information that would have two versions of the Snapdragon 865-standard processor model with the X55 5G modem.

Samsung will also produce a GPU processor for Nvidia, which has been used by TSMC for years.

Samsung and AMD have also collaborated in creating a GPU for mobile, but AMD still holds TSMC when it comes to producing new Zen 2 CPUs and Navi cards.
