DxOMark: Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, the phone with the best camera

Samsung announced today that the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, unveiled last week, received from DxOMark‘s the highest rating in camera testing.

The phone took 99 points for its front selfie camera with a split of 103 for photography and 93 for video. The overview of these results is as follows:

Galaxy Note 10+ 5G scored 113 total points for the rear cameras and 99 points for the selfie cameras, crowning it with the new driver at DxOMark, one point ahead of two other new devices, the Galaxy S10 5G and the Huawei P30 Pro.

DxOMark test is designed to provide a mechanical way to compare and evaluate the performance of phones camera in a variety of situations.

Samsung reveals the 108-megapixel camera for smartphones

While the megapixel camera war seems to have resumed, Samsung is among the first to launch an offensive. The company revealed the 108-megapixel sensor for smartphones, a sensor that will most likely be displayed on Xiaomi‘s upcoming Redmi phone.

It’s called ISOCELL Bright HMX and was developed by Samsung in collaboration with Xiaomi. It’s one of the largest 1/1.33-inch camera sensors ever produced. Even at this size, the 108-megapixel sensor will have very small pixels. Tetracell technology will collect light by four pixels and the 108-megapixel sensor will produce 27-megapixel photos.

But if you want you can still produce 108-megapixel photos but you will need an ambient with enough light.

Samsung’s Smart-ISO mechanism will select a small ISO in high light and a large ISO in low light. We hope Xiaomi gives users control over these configurations. Along with high resolution photos and clear low-light photos, the sensor will enable video recording at 6K at 30fps.

Samsung’s latest cameras have been criticized for poor performance in low light especially when compared to cameras like the P30 Pro that use Sony chips. By increasing the size of the camera chip, Samsung can eventually address this problem.

At the same time the bigger the camera of a smartphone, the less reason for consumers to buy dedicated and compact cameras. Production of the new chip begins at the end of this month, Samsung said.

The security firm Check Point has found a way to hack every iPhone and iPad running iOS 8 to iOS 13.

Check Point has discovered that the iOS built-in Contacts app can be accessed using the industry’s SQLite database. Any searches users make in the Contacts app can lead to the execution of viral codes capable of stealing user data and passwords.

If you keep the engine off after adding the wrong type of fuel, the repairs will be limited to one part of the vehicle instead of the fuel pump system, engine, and the tank. Fix the problem on your own

Now that you have stopped panicking and have turned off the engine. What now? You can either wait for your mechanic to come or you can try to repair it yourself. However, you will still need help from other people. Let’s have a look at different ways to repair it.

You might start panicking about how you made this terrible mistake or what should you be doing, and doing something wrong might as well increase the damage. Huawei breaks the silence, launches their operating system – Harmony OS

Today at the Huawei Developers Conference, CEO of the company’s Consumer Business Group Richard Yu, surprised the audience by unveiling “Harmony OS“, which he says is faster and more secure than Android.

The software is aimed at IoT products instead of smartphones. Harmony OS is an operating system for all platforms, compatible for desktops and smartphones.

According to Yu, once Huawei can no longer access Google’s Android, it can run “Harmony OS” immediately. Until then, Huawei will continue with Android.

The platform is open source, and is in fact more of a competitor to future Google Fuchsia, given that both are microcornel-based and can be used on multiple devices at the same time.

In contrast, according to Yu’s presentation, Andoid is not as efficient due to its redundant codes, outdated planning mechanism and fragmentation issues.

But Harmony OS, thanks to the microcornel design, is more secure because it lacks root access, so it is protected from external service isolation.

In addition to a lighter system, Huawei says the Harmony OS will provide performance improvements. One of these is the “Deterministic Latency Engine”, which can allocate system resources using real-time analytics and forecasts. Android, on the other hand, has stuck with the less intelligent Linux mechanism.

Huawei states that HarmonyOS’s IPC performance is 5-times as Google’s Fuschia , 3-times as QNX’s.
