According to reports, VW wanted to use the RS3 Sportback’s 2.5-liter turbo engine, but Audi did not allow the use of their iconic engine. This has left the Golf R with its old 2.0-liter but up-to-date engine, which now produces close to 330 horsepower.

VW has already confirmed that it will introduce the new Golf R this year, but due to the coronavirus, which has invaded the world, it is not known when it will be launched.

Within weeks, when the Geneva Motor Show kicks off, we’ll be able to see the new Volkswagen Golf GTI. The eighth generation of this car has been awaited for a long time, until now it has been seen several times while being tested on the road.

Compared to the older version, the new one looks much more aggressive, with new LED lights much longer, as well as a lower platform. Other changes are very minor and have more to do with the conclusions some of the lines have undergone.

Tthe Spy photos of the Golf R show off its super-sporty features ranging from exhaust pipes, colored brakes and sporty front air vents. A recent leaked document from VW confirmed that the Golf R will have will have the 2.0-liter engine that produces 328 horsepower, making it the most powerful variant with 32 horsepower more than the previous model.

2020 Volkswagen Golf 8 Details

2020 Volkswagen Golf 8 Details

2020 VW Golf 8 Design and Interior

From the outside, the biggest difference, unlike the previous generation, comes at the front of the model. The thinnest lights make the big difference. At the rear, the car bears the usual design, but with redesigned lights and the Golf badge placed right under the VW logo. Even Volkswagen itself has admitted that it did not see fit to make a drastic change in car style.

The most interesting changes have been made internally. Unlike the seventh generation, the interior of the new generation is dominated by screens. The first screen is 10-inches with an information system that enables the driver to set the position of certain options. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard systems. The main screen is 10.25 inches located in the middle of the car. All options are now touch sensitive

Engines and Hybrids

As in the past, Golf was created on the popular Volkswagen Group platform, MQB. The new golf is almost identical in size to the old car.

Volkswagen Golf 8 comes in four versions with petrol engines and two with diesel engines. The petrol comes with 90- or 110-horsepower 1.0-liter models. Next up are the 1.5-liter models with 130 or 150 horsepower. The 2.0-liter diesel engines come with 115 or 150 horsepower. Each of these non-hybrid models comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. The automatic version is considered an add-on for diesel models.

The all-electric version will not fit the Golf, as it will be stored for the “ID” family. However, there are some hybrid versions present. The 48-volt power system adds up to 16 horsepower for hybrid versions. This version is combined with most engines that are in “traditional” versions.

By launch, the most unique Golf is the GTE version. It will have the plug-in hybrid system with 148 horsepower, 1.4-liter petrol engine, but with the electric motor in combination offer 242 horsepower, just like the Golf GTI.

Volkswagen has confirmed that the special GTI and R models will come later, with no further details confirmed.

During this setup, VW was also planning to unveil the new Golf model, but this was postponed until October.

Previously, we’ve seen the Golf GTE being an electric hybrid, until now it’s been seen even testing the Golf with no camouflage just a few stickers on the headlights and tail lights.

Is noted the fill port on the left side protector, new wheels and GTE-like grill. This model looked closer than ever before, and had the new logo.

As part of the eighth generation, the Volkswagen Golf will be the freest in use so far, with high tech and good style.

Volkswagen introduces only two Golf models, with special technology and power (Photo)

The Worthesee organization, which is held annually in Austria, has gathered many car worshipers who have had the opportunity to see two cars that can not be seen elsewhere, reports Telegraph.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

It was Volkswagen that surprised with two Golf’s, the only ones of this types, with special technology and power, as well as with other seemingly different details.

Golf GTI Aurora was introduced with a 2.0 liter engine, which can produce up to 380 horsepower, as well as seven different speeds. The painted gray car also has some greenish, hand-painted results.

To capture the 3.500watt sound system, the seventh seat is removed. The front part has also undergone change, with touch sensitive touch screens for ease of use.

The next car is the Golf Estate R 4MOTION FighteR, which has an increased capacity of 400 horsepower, the same as the Golf R400. Due to apparent changes, the fireplace has expanded and now has more interior space.

On the ceiling are the lights and a 360-degree rotating camera, which is able to take pictures and record when it is a lap. The light is also on the grill, while inside this Volkswagen Golf is made with leather, as there is a new sound system.

Meet the 2020 Volkswagen Golf Mk8 - Spy Photos

Meet the 2020 Volkswagen Golf Mk8 – Spy Photos

The current Volkswagen Golf was a revolution when it arrived at least with modular MBQ architecture. We already have a new Golf which is not a revolution but an evolution of the past revolution. The Golf Mk8 2020 comes with a remodeled version of the MBQ platform, the outlook and a sharper design.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Exterior appearance changes are detailed in some spy photos published. The design of lanterns seems to have borne some of BMW‘s ideas.

But the biggest change we expect is in the interior of the car. The VW design chief has promised a super digital golf inland.

The interior is a real revolution unlike the outside appearance and the only thing analogous is the wheel of the car.

Given these changes, the question is what will be done with E-Golf as the base line is orienting more and more toward the electric future.

Also the electric car program is expected to bring ID models to the size of a golf course.

Autocar reports a GTE model of Golf MK8. However, we are dealing with a more sympathetic Golf.

Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR

Golf 8 with ‘genes’ of the race car (Photo)

Since being introduced last year in Australia, we know more about the long-awaited Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, reports Telegraph.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Golf model enthusiasts were not so happy when they learned about the performance of the eighth generation, which is no bigger than the current model.

Under the cap has a 2.0 liter engine, which allows the base model to produce 217 horsepower, while the Performace pack can produce 227 units. However, Golf 8 will be liked by everyone driving in the street, as there are ‘race genes’.

“This model, which is being processed for the eighth time, can not be disappointed,” says a Volkswagen car-maker to a forum.

The new 18-inch wheels, seven automatic speed and new differential speeds at the front, are the three elements that differentiate it from the current model. Advantage are also the great openings of air, which have greatly enhanced aerodynamics.

Golf 8 prepayments have already begun, the base price of which is 38.950 euros, while for the completed version 41,147 euros have to be paid.
