Huawei Mate X launch delay has been made to advance the processor and camera

The launch of the Huawei Mate X – the company’s first foldable phone – has been postponed again and would not be revealed in September as predicted, but could happen sometime in November.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Neowin has learned that this phone will make big changes whenever it arrives, and not as we have seen before.

Sources close to Huawei have announced that the launch has been delayed to make the processor and camera more advanced and not that this phone has any problems.

As part of the plans, it is the new Huawei Kirin 990 processor, which is not known for specifics, and the camera used in the Huawei P30 Pro, which captures very good photos in low light.

This is still a foldable phone, and it is rumored that the Huawei Mate X will be very good in this line of phones.

This 32-inch Samsung Space Gaming takes up little space for a gaming monitor

Giant gaming monitors have one problem: they occupy most of the desk space leaving little room for speakers and other peripherals.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Samsung may have found a simple solution. The new Space Gaming Monitor SR75Q adopts the formula of a Space Monitor. The 32-inch screen is slim and flush with the wall.

However this monitor has replaced 4K in favor of a 2,560×1440 pixel resolution with a refresh rate of 144Hz and support for AMD FreeSync.

As in the past, with this modem you can hide the power cables and HDMI without overlooking the desk. Samsung did not provide details on the price of the monitors but should be available globally in the fourth quarter of the year.

Their price can range around $500, as well as the Space Monitor.

Google Play app store invaded by the white

Google has begun offering massive redesign of the Google Play Store to users. This design has appeared several times in limited testing in the past few months, but already now is available to everyone.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The new look is in line with the “Material Design” that Google brought with Android 9 Pie last year. This style uses the official Google.com site as inspiration and the results are very white.

It’s the same design released in Gmail earlier this year, present on Android P and will continue with Android Q.

The Play Store sells apps, books, movies, and music, and past design was colorful between different sections. Now the app is almost monochrome.

In addition to the new look, the app offers support for the new gesture navigation panel by making it transparent. On the homepage, the content tabs are at the bottom of the app. The four tabs remain “Games”, “Apps”, “Movies & TV” and “Books” while the “Music” tab is missing.

Along with the Play Store, we expect to see successive redesign with Google apps in the coming weeks. The company has promised a “Dark Mode” for everyone, a feature that will be available at system level on Android Q as well.

Do you need an antivirus on Android? What about on the iPhone?

Do you need an antivirus on Android? What about on the iPhone?

Everyone knows that an antivirus is necessary for the computer. There are endless malware and viruses ready to steal even the smallest information from your computer.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

But have you ever wondered if our smartphones or tablets also need antivirus? what about iPad? BlackBerry or Windows Phone?

> Check Out: What to do when you lose your Android phone? Follow the tips below!

The simple answer is: Yes. You need some kind of security app for your smartphone and tablet. All these devices have security issues. But how possible it is to face malware on these platforms depends on the type of device you use.

Malware on Android and Antiviruses

Android app stores, including Google Play, have always had issues with security and malware penetration. Even with the introduction of Google Play Protect and the rise of Google Play security measures, Android malware has managed to penetrate despite the situation improving.

One of the biggest threats is Ransomware. Attacks of this kind are declining on consumers but are increasing on businesses. As a result, the main problems for Android devices remain theft of credentials and information and bad ads.

Protecting your Android smartphone or tablet from malware and ransomware, an antivirus can save you a lot of trouble. In fact, this platform is the biggest mobile malware target. Some reports indicate that 95% of the attacks go to the Android operating system.

Luckily there are some quality security and anti-malware apps on Android. But what matters is how effective an Android antivirus is.

We recommend that you check out the latest AV-Test Android report for the best antiviruses. Currently Avast Mobile Security, AVG Antivirus Free, Bitdefender Mobile Security, Kaspersky Internet Security, McAfee Mobile Security, Norton Mobile Security, Sophos Mobile Security and Trend Micro Mobile Security have all received the highest points in protection and usage.

You can also install firewall applications for your Android device such as DroidWall. However, most of these applications require administrator privileges exposing them to other risks. Adding a firewall gives you a level of protection given how cybercriminals attack android devices, a firewall is not necessarily needed.

Malware on iPhone and Antiviruses

You’ve likely heard people say you don’t need an antivirus or security app on macOS or iOS, but they are totally wrong. You need malware protection on macOS and even iOS.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_5″]

The malware situation on the iPhone is different from Android. In fact very different. Apple imposes tougher measures and controls on the App Store and the iOS app development process. In fact, the “Apple wall” reduces the chances of downloading malware to the App Store significantly.

Apple has created iOS from scratch with security in mind. Apps that fully scan the system are not allowed in the App Store. Antivirus applications on the App Store have limited functionality and focus primarily on protecting against malware vulnerabilities, attachments and downloads.

Fortunately this makes them less effective. However if you make your iPhone jailbreak to download apps from stores other than the App Store, you can expose yourself to malware. In other stores, the chances of getting malware are as high as in Android.

The famous KeyRaider malware on the iPhone came from a third-party store and targeted the jailbreak iPhone. Also these phones do not have the latest security updates leaving them vulnerable.

On iOS, firms that run standalone tests don’t run tests and big antivirus names don’t offer full antivirus apps for iOS

Malware on BlackBerry and Antiviruses

Malware on BlackBerry and Antiviruses
Malware on BlackBerry and Antiviruses

BlackBerry devices can be divided into two camps: those using the BlackBerry (BB) operating system and the latest ones running Android. The latter have the same risks as we described in the Android space.

Those who still have a BlackBerry system installed are also vulnerable to malware. The BB10 is the latest BlackBerry operating system. Currently, at the moment we are writing, it has not received an update in five months. Furthermore support for BB10 will end in 2019.

Chinese company TCL Communications manufactures new generation of BlackBerry phones. TCL is licensed to manufacture devices by this name but all new devices use Android operating system and not BB.

What does this mean in terms of security? Well the number of people using WB is decreasing over time. The number of targets and the cost of attacking the WB is greater. It is therefore less profitable to attack BlackBerry devices.

What’s more, BB10 malware is not as much of an issue as Android and doesn’t get as much attention in testing.

Malware on Windows 10 Mobile and Antiviruses

Malware on Windows 10 Mobile

The successor of Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 10 Mobile has strong connections to the desktop operating system. But Windows 10 Mobile will end on December 10, 2019. Last year’s Autumn update was the last.

> Check Out: IOS Is Better Than Android – ? Reasons

At the end of the support users should switch to an alternative mobile operating system. Windows 10 Mobile will become vulnerable to attacks as the problems to be detected will not be addressed.

You need an antivirus application on mobile devices!

As you can see, whether you need an antivirus application, it depends on your mobile operating system.

If you have an older Android device you should use an antivirus application as this category of Android devices are more exposed. With iOS you have a much safer operating system than Android but installing a security tool for scanning e-mail or download files can help you stay safe online.

As far as BlackBerry and Windows 10 Mobile are concerned, both operating systems are in the end-of-life, and the best option left to you is to switch to an operating system device that receives constant updates.

Technology giants together against the digital tax

The French Senate in July approved a 3% tax that will apply to digital revenue generated in France if it exceeds 25m euros and 750m euros worldwide.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The US Chamber of Commerce said the tax would generate roughly 500m euros a year and much of it would be paid by US firms.

“Such measures hurt Facebook and the digital economy,” said social networking tax chief Alan Lee.

The COO of the Computer and Communications Industry Association, which represents companies like Intel, eBay and Netflix, said the tax undermines the progress made with the new tax system in the digital economy and fosters an aggressive response to the problem.

Amazon’s tax policy director said that in France more than 10,000 businesses sell through Amazon online stores and the tax will increase sales by 3% starting October 1.

Last month US President Donald Trump threatened to tax wine and other French products in retaliation. Other European countries have also announced plans for their digital tax.

Huawei has begun the research for the 6G system in Canada

We have just seen the new 5G service release, but other companies are considering building a successor and this is the 6G system. One of these is Chinese tech giant Huawei.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

As reported by TechSpot, Huawei has started the research into the creation of 6G in their lab in Ottawa, Canada. Huawei is said to be collaborating with more than 13 universities and research institutes on the project.

“5G is a really a good new technology and we’re trying to make 6G the evolution of 5G,” said Huawei Vice President Song Zhang. With 5G just coming out of service, Huawei predicts that 6G will come out in 10 years, at a time when 5G will be quite popular by then.

Despite the fact that they are developing 6G service, it is the Canadian state that has to decide whether Huawei should use its 5G services technology in the country, a decision that will be taken after the autumn parliamentary elections.

During June, Samsung announced the creation of a research center focused on the creation of the 6G service. Later on, Advanced Communication Research Center was created in addition to Samsung Research.

Also South Korean company LG Electronics, in collaboration with the South Korea Institute of Science and Technology, has also opened a research center, and China has said it will do the first 6G testing in 2020.

We don’t know how big a market there is to accommodate a budget phone that also serves as an action camera, but in a world of electronic gadgets similar to one another, it’s interesting to see the already the owned Lenovo brand take steps to other directions.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Motorola One Action has three vertically oriented rear cameras, one of which has a super-wide 117-degree lens to deliver GoPro-style photos.

Even more interesting is the fact that the Motorola phone has a different sensor orientation. Holding the phone vertically in the horizontal videos will give the wrong results.

Beyond the cameras the phone is a standard Moto budget model. From today it goes on sale in Brazil, Mexico and parts of Europe for $300.

The 6.3-inch FHD+ display has a hole-punch cutout for the 12-megapixel selfie camera. The phone is either powered by a Samsung Exynos 9609 processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets.

To close the phone has 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, USB-C port and 3,500 mAh battery.

Researchers found a fundamental problem with Bluetooth security

A new Bluetooth device security warning has been issued following the discovery of a critical problem that researchers see as a serious threat to users’ security and privacy.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Through this security problem, an attacker can interfere with the process of encrypting network connections thus stealing the encryption keys and accessing traffic data between the targeted devices.

The team was surprised by finding of such a fundamental problem that has been present for 20 years.

All Bluetooth models from 1.0 to 5.1 are affected by this security problem. It was discovered by CISPA researchers and published in coordination with companies such as Microsoft, Apple, Intel, Cisco and Amazon.

All chips made by Intel, Broadcom, Apple and Qualcomm are vulnerable to KNOB attacks. Imagine beyond Bluetooth headsets and speakers, all those printers or data exchanges between devices or between your phone and your car.

Huawei postpones the Mate X debut again

The company told to TechRadar during an event in China that the launch of Mate X in September was impossible.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

In June when the phone should have arrived, the company said it would launch the phone in September after news that the Galaxy Fold had suffered numerous problems with the folding mechanism.

Huawei’s Mate X will most likely be launched in November with an exact date missing.

TechRadar said Huawei had not provided information on the reasons for the delay. Perhaps the company is trying to avoid a scenario similar to what Samsung experienced with the Galaxy Fold. Or perhaps the company is not sure that ARM and Google will not block technology due to US sanctions.

However the upgraded Galaxy Fold will arrive ahead of the Mate X in the market.
