LG postpones the 5G phone debut

LG will postpone the launch of the first 5G device, the LG V50 ThinQ phone in South Korea. On an official stand, the company said it would push its debut to focus on the “completion” of the phone that had to arrive on April 19th.

LG added that it was working closely with Qualcomm and South Korean mobile operators to improve the 5G experience. The debut date will confirm at a second notice the company said.

South Korea’s 5G Network was launched on April 3 a few hours before the US Verizon network was launched on the same day.

Verizon criticized the debut she saw as a 5G phone ad for a small number of celebrities.

The network was unavailable until April 5th when the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G went on sale.

It is not known what it means to postpone LG’s 5G phone to the rest of the world.

Intel fall back from competing for 5G of smartphones

Few hours after shocking news that Apple and Qualcomm had signed an agreement, Intel unexpectedly announced it would fall back completely from the 5G modems for smartphones.

Apple has been trying to replace Qualcomm and Intel modems recently, but this latest faced problems with implementing the 5G.

In a press release, Intel said it will not launch a 5G modem for smartphones although it planned to do so in 2020.

There has been speculation that the company has not reached deadlines and even Apple has lost confidence in Intel.

That is why Apple will not sell an iPhone with 5G at least for the next two years at a time when rivals like Samsung and Huawei have already done so.

Intel CEO said they were excited about the 5G but not the smartphones since there was no reliable route that could bring profit to the company.

In November last year it was said that Intel was accelerating the development of 5G modems and even giving a clear plan to CES in Jana.

Now the company says it will develop 4G and 5G technologies for IoT and computers as it will continue to invest in 5G infrastructure.

Samsung doesn’t stop, it starts working with the processors of the next generation

Samsung has only begun producing a 7-nanometer chip, but has already taken another major step to keep up with Moore law.

The company today said it had started work on new 5-nanometer chips and will begin building them for smartphones and other devices in the second trimester of 2020.

The benefits will not be enormous but significant. For example, users will receive 20% less energy consumption and 10% more speed.

The 5-nanometer transistors are so small that you can put 2,000 in the width of a human hair.

The company will use the same EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) technology it has used to produce 7-nanometer chips. The EUV currently has a 13.5-nanometer beam width although long-awaited is a difficult process to achieve.

However, it remains very much needed to send the chip to the next level and stay at Moore’s law that says the number of transistors on a processor plate doubles every 24 months.

But reducing the transistor has created problems. GlobalFoundries, the former AMD manufacturer, recently said it will not produce 7-nanometer chips because they are very costly.

On the other hand, Samsung said that the first EUV line designed to produce 7-nanometer chips has cost the company $6 billion.

Samsung will not be alone in the 5-nanometer race because last TSMC introduced prototypes for consumers. Promised to increase transistors by 80% compared to 25% that Samsung says and performance 15% more compared to the 10% rival.

Samsung manufactures chips not only for self but also for Qualcomm while TSMC manufactures the Apple A11 and A12 chips.

Intel, Samsung and TSMC are the only manufacturers of EUV chips using advanced lithographic technologies developed by the Dutch ASML company.

Live Your Basketball Fantasies with These Awesome Games

My husband is a huge basketball junkie and I’ve been looking for ways to help him get his basketball fix on his phone so he’s not constantly watching NBA games during the prime television hours. A friend of mine recommended mobile basketball games (apparently her husband really enjoys them) but when I was searching the Google and Apple app stores I just really wasn’t impressed with any of them and I knew that meant he definitely wouldn’t be.

I thought that I’d give it one more go and just did a Google search. That’s when I came across a website that had a list of the best ten basketball game apps. I looked into them a little bit and then suggested to them to my husband, not thinking much of it.

Best 10 Basketball Games

I’m not really sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but he’s totally hooked. It works for me, though, because it means I get to watch whatever show I want while he taps away at his phone; much better than sitting through a boring basketball game (in my opinion). Anyway, this has been such a big help to me that I thought I’d recommend my husband’s favorite two apps so any other desperate wives out there might have a shot of getting the tv for a little bit too!

Dunk Shot – Rating: 4.4, Downloads: 10M

The benefit of this game is that – according to my husband – it’s great if all you want to do is to relax. You simply take one extremely satisfying shot after another and, in the process, time just seems to fly by.  Especially for basketball fans who wish they could be out on that court alongside the professional players, it feels good to sink smooth shots and get your highest score possible.

The one thing my husband did note about this app is that there are ads. He said he doesn’t find them to be very intrusive, but he could understand why other users might find them annoying or not want to play because of them, so keep that in mind.

Pros: Great for relaxing, lets you feel like you’re in the game, a good way to pass the time

Cons: There are ads
Overall: As long as you don’t mind the occasional ad or two, you’ll enjoy passing your time by sinking balls with nothing but net

Basketball Stars – Rating: 4.5, Downloads: 50M

Again, I don’t know if this is good for me or not, but my husband and daughters have been loving playing this game together. My girls are five and eight and my husband has found that this is a great way to let them de-stress after a full day of school (not that elementary school is crazy stressful – but sometimes kids think so). Once in a while, I’ll even join in on a game and it’s actually a really great way to spend quality time with my kids and husband – even if basketball isn’t really my thing.

I would mention that occasionally I’ve noticed this app to be a bit glitchy at times. It’s never anything too bad – it can almost always be solved by just restarting the game – but I can understand where some people might feel frustrated because of that.

Pros: Fun for the whole family (kid-friendly), good for spending quality time together

Cons: Game can be a bit glitchy

Overall: As long as you’re willing to restart the game if it begins to act funny, this game is a great way to spend time as an entire family

Conclusion

At the end of the day, I’m really glad my husband found these apps. Or, rather, that I found these apps for my husband. Finally, I am able to watch the shows that I want to watch at night and he stays entertained whenever he wants that extra basketball fix. We’re even starting to use these as family bonding activities, which is a fun side effect I never would have guessed. If you’re in the market for a basketball app, I’d say look no further than these.

“Dark Mode” is official in the Messenger application

Facebook Messenger was officially equipped today with a “Dark Mode” feature. Available since March in the form of a hidden function, “dark mode” was activated by sending a moon like to a friend.

You no longer need to do this because it is accessed with a simple button and is available for 1.3 billion Messenger users.

Just click on the profile picture in Messenger and at the top of the configuration options you will notice the new option called “Dark Mode.”

In addition to being lighter for late-night hours, the darker theme should increase battery life on OLED screens such as iPhone X, XS, XS Max or Galaxy series and LG V8 and V40.

This is because when the option is activated, individual pixels do not show black color but actually turn off saving energy.

Google has also started testing a darker OS theme for Android Q as well as Apple iOS 13.

The success of artificial intelligence in the face of OG was with an aggressive and unconventional method, such as the immediate resurrection of heroes in the early stages and the selection of worthy heroes.

Today, Linkedin addressed this problem by introducing four new responses that people can use in response to posts on the social network.

In addition to the “Like” button you can already choose between “Celebrate,” “Love,” “Insightful,” and “Curious.”

The fact that a ” Haha ” reaction is missing is enough to say that Linkedin is not a social network where you can have fun.

Reactions are globally available for nearly 600 million today’s users on desktop and mobile applications.

Facebook launched the feedback three years ago and Linkedin has never been quick in adopting new trends. However, it shows that the company is showing responsiveness by providing users with a more dynamic platform and in the hope that it will generate more feedback.

Reactions not only are an incentive to increase engagement but also a company’s attempt to stay competitive with other social platforms.

For Linkedin to continue attracting more users, even smaller add-ons like the latter can make the difference for the social network.

Coinbase launches a Bitcoin debit card in Europe

Cryptocurrency most popular grants Coinbase announced today the launch of a debit card in Britain where users can pay with bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin.

The card will automatically convert the coins to pounds and withdraw them from an ATM. A Coinbase application will be offered where users can choose which digital currency they want to use.

It is the first card of its kind and the good news is that it will be offered in other European countries as well.

The news comes at a time when the value of bitcoin has begun to recover by crossing the $5,000 limit for the first time since November.

Experts say the increase in value may attract new investors. A similar card has been launched in the US by Shift Payments but has already been closed.

In Britain any transaction with the new card will cost 2.49% of the value. In the rest of Europe 2.69% and in other countries 5.49%.

Most VISA cards do not charge users in domestic markets for completed transactions.

Galaxy A80 has a rear camera that is selfie at the same time

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A80, the newest mid-range smartphone with a camera that is not only used as the rear camera but also as a selfie camera.

The camera relies on a slide mechanism which, when activated, rotates the camera to make it a selfie camera.

Given this camera design, Samsung was able to produce the first phone with the “New Infinity” screen.

The camera is triple and consists of a 48-megapixel f / 2.0 main camera, a 8-megapixel rear-view camera with f / 2.2 aperture and a third time ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor.

The screen has no cut, no notch, no hole punch and has a 6.7-inch FHD + resolution of 1080 × 2400 Super AMOLED pixels.

We have also seen slide show phones in the past but never in this form. The Oppo N1 is approaching somewhat because it had a 13-megapixel rotating camera.

“Pop-up” cameras have recently become a trend in trying to produce “notch” phones like Vivo Nex and Oppo Find X. Slider phones have also been reinstated as Honor Magic 2 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.

Along with this camera configuration, the Galaxy A80 has 3.700 mAh battery and 25W fast charging technology. It also comes with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of memory and a fingerprint scanner under the screen. The phone is available in three colors: gold, white and black.

Along with the Galaxy A80, Samsung will also launch for sale the Galaxy A70 that it unveiled last month. The A70 has a screen with a small 6.7-inch notch with a 20: 9 ratio. For the full specs of Galaxy A70 click here.

Galaxy A80 goes on sale on May 29, joining the Galaxy A10, A20, A30 and A50, which have been unveiled in recent months. Prices for the Galaxy A80 and A70 remain unknown.

Acer revealed yesterday latest gaming monitor. The 43-inch CG437K model has a refresh rate of 144hz and an Ultra-HD 4K resolution of 3840×2160 pixels.

It also comes with the AdaptiveSync technology for the best gaming experience. The monitor features three HDMI ports along with a type-C port and a screen port.

The monitor will be sold in the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa in September at a base price of 1,500 euros.
