According to the latest Report Apple to shift about 30% of iPhone Production Outside China

Apple is considering moving from 15 to 30% of all iPhone production from China to other countries and has asked its big suppliers to weigh the costs, says a report.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The move was caused by US-China trade tensions, Nikkei announced on Wednesday. China had said in May that it would impose a 25% tax on US goods in retaliation against President Donald Trump’s plan to raise tariffs for products imported from China.

Analysts have predicted that the cost of the iPhone will rise up to 14% as a result of the move – although Apple CEO Tim Cook in June said he “does not foresee” that this will happen.

“The Chinese have not targeted Apple and I do not expect this to happen, to be honest,” Cook said.

“I hope this will not happen … the truth is, iPhone is produced elsewhere. And so, the tariff on iPhone would harm all those states. ”

Citing “some people,” Nikkei announced on Wednesday that Apple wants to rely less on China for its phones even if another Chinese tariff does not hit.

“With or without the end of the $300 billion tariff, Apple is following the big trend [to diversify production],” a source told Nikkei.

Meet Libra, Facebook's long-awaited Cryptocurrency

Meet Libra, Facebook’s long-awaited Cryptocurrency

According to the white paper, Facebook’s cryptocurrency called “Libra” will operate in the Libra Blockchain and rely on a reserve of assets that will give it a stable value by protecting against fluctuations.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

These assets are bank deposits and short-term securities that will be held in the Book Reserve for each booklet that is issued for circulation.

The new payroll coefficient will be overseen by a non-profit organization based in Switzerland, the “Libra Association”, which consists of names such as Mastercard, PayPal, Visa, Stripe, eBay, Coinbase, Andreessen Horowitz and Uber as its founders.

Facebook hopes to expand this organization to 100 members ahead of Libra debut in the first half of 2020.

The Libra Organization is run by the Council of Libra Association. The members of the council are the founders where each leads a network node and is required a minimum initial $10 million investment.

Every 10 million provides one vote per entity to the council. Facebook also introduced the Libra Invesment Token, a currency other than that of the Equinox Libra which can be bought and distributed in the form of dividends for the founder of the organization and the accredited investors.

Because Libra is not technically tied to a state-owned currency, the white paper says users may not always swap the currency for a certain amount of paper money even though Facebook claims that reserve assets are chosen to minimize the variation of the cryptocurrency.

While reserve assets are geographically distributed to ensure its decentralization, the only reserve is managed by the Libra Association.

New Libra coins are created when authorized resellers buy coins from paper-based organizations and are destroyed when resellers sell currency to the organization again.

Facebook says the software that enables Libra blockchain implementation is open-source and serves an ecosystem of interoperable financial services by expanding the involvement of actors and investors.

Earlier reports say the currency will be used to ease Facebook payments and in platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram exposing them to 2.7 billion active users per month.

Microsoft Restart Selling Huawei Laptops

Microsoft in a mysterious way removed the Huawei laptop line from online stores last month following a Trump executive order to block the Chinese company.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

While the software giant has been silent about whether to license Windows to Huawei for the laptops line or not, the latter are beginning to reappear in online stores this week. Currently MateBook 13, Mate Book and MateBook X Pro models have been restored. In addition to the MateBook X Pro models that are listed as “no stock,” others are available for purchase.

Microsoft confirmed to The Verge that laptops that are on sale are currently in stock until their full sale. When asked if he would continue to sell Huawei products that contradicted the new US regulation, the company insisted that the products were in inventory.

Finally, Huawei announced the postponement of the debut of new Windows laptops that were scheduled for CES Asia last week. It is unknown what the laptop was in the company’s plans, but the cause is clear, the US executive order and the uncertainty as American technology companies will react to it.

According to speculations unmatched laptops are MateBook 14 and an updated model of the MateBook X Pro.

The Released Patent Reveals Huawei’s Folding Phone, with a new Approach

While Huawei has delayed their folding Mate X phone, to ensure that there will not be a failure like Samsung and “hurt their reputation,” the R & D department is working hard on the second or in the future device of the folding phone.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

A recently discovered patent application suggests a dual approach, with a screen that can be wrapped around the edges when folded.

LetsGoDigital‘s images are a better representation of what Huawei has in mind.

Like Mate X, this device folds twice, and compared to Samsung is the most practical solution – the Chinese company believes.

The new Video Concept Shows how iPhone XI Might Look Like (VIDEO)

We do not know whether to bail the iPhone XI or iPhone 11, but thanks to some leaks and rumors, there are some ideas on how it will look.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The team at DBS Designing has undoubtedly been paying attention to suspected iPhone rumors and images. They have created an unofficial concept video that predicts what the next iPhone will look like.

The short clip, posted on YouTube, shows the camera’s design in the corner of the device that is hinted at by some streamlined images. The DBS Designing video shows four lenses, which, if they are real, means expanding AR’s focus and capabilities.

The video also shows the phones in four different colors: gold, black, white and Apple’s red variant. According to the concept, reverse charging can allow users to load their AirPods directly from the phone. It’s a skill that Huawei and Samsung have already embraced and Apple can take into account.

Finally, the video also assumes that Apple will remove the Lightning connector for a USB-C port.

Sanctions against Huawei are giving the first blows to American technology giants

Broadcom sent a shock wave to the chip manufacturing industry on Friday, warning that US-China trade warfare and prohibition of doing business with Huawei will cause the company $2 billion in losses.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Broadcom’s warning is the clearest proof of the damage Trump’s trade war with Beijing is causing. Brodacom’s shares declined by 8.6%, dropping $9 billion in market value from a company that had headquarters in Asia in the past, but now in America.

The chip manufacturer like Qualcomm, Applied Materials, Intel, AMD and Xilinx also saw the shares fall between 1.5% and 3%. Shares of almost all Huawei suppliers fell.

Huawei accounted for $900 million in Broadcom’s sales, or 4% of it. The semiconductor industry has faced low demand since mid-2018, and the latest geopolitical war along with sanctions against Huawei are a shock.

Broadcom, known for its Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS smartphone chips, is also a major supplier of Apple.

CEO of another American chip giant Micron Technology said sanctions against Huawei bring uncertainty and concern to the semiconductor industry.

Adobe has trained an AI system that identifies photo manipulation with Photoshop

An Adobe team and UC Berkeley researchers have successfully trained an artificial intelligence system capable of tracking image manipulation through Adobe Photoshop.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Researchers hope the tool will help restore confidence in digital media at a time when deepfakes and fake faces are becoming more common and difficult to distinguish.

It would also make it possible for anyone to discover the manipulation of images. The team trained a neural network to discern images manipulated with Face-Away Liquify’s Photoshop function, which was designed to change the eyes, mouth, and other facial expressions.

When tested, the neural network successfully identified 99% of manipulated images. Compared with humans, the latter discovered manipulation only in 53% of cases. The tool was also capable of restoring images to the original format. This is not the first time Adobe has trained artificial intelligence to distinguish the modified Photoshop images, but this technique is specifically for identifying facial manipulation.

The company says we are living in a world where trust in digital information that consumes has fallen. Adobe says this is just the beginning of many efforts to come up with identifying manipulation of images.

Huawei Postpones the Debut of The Mate X Foldable Phone

The Chinese giant told CNBC and the Wall Street Journal that it was doing tests to make the device ready for customers and was acting cautiously after news of Samsung Galaxy Fold problems.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The latter debuted in April but shipments were postpones indefinitely after the devices was broken just a few days of use by media analysts.

The biggest problem for Huawei is not only the sustainability of the phone but also the effects of American sanctions. Because Huawei was placed on the black list, American firms can not sell or license Huawei technology. All this situation has caused great trouble that no company would want it to be. Google has revoked the Android license, while Microsoft is expected to do the same with Windows.

Based on this, it is unknown whether Mate X will come with Android or not. CNBC says Huawei will come up with Android because it was launched before Huawei list it in the blacklist. WSJ says this is being discussed.

An alternative is the launch of phone with Huawei system operation that he has started testing. Mate X was launched in February and was well received by analysts. The 8-inch OLED screen just folds into two. It has 8GB of RAM and 5G technology but costs 2,299 euros.

Visa, Mastercard, PayPal And other Big Names To Support Facebook Cryptocurrency

Facebook has joined dozens of companies in support of the new social network cryptocurrency that is expected to be launched soon and among them has big names reported on The Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Uber are some of the most lucrative companies that will support the new Facebook technology. Each of them will invest nearly $10 million in the consortium that will oversee cryptocurrency, the WSJ reported, citing people close to the issue.

The money will be used to fund the creation of a currency that could be exchanged with some of the world’s most powerful paper money, the report further said. The social network decides not to comment on the report. Last week, it was reported that Facebook is close to the debut  this month the cryptocurrency.

While the encryption blockchain will be much more centralized than bitcoins with 100 or fewer nodes in the payment network, the company will benefit from outsourcing assistance to keep the system running.

Apart from building trust, this system would be a frontier payment platform. A smooth launch would be vital to the health of the counterfeiter without mentioning the need to address the troubles with the regulatory authorities which have shown little skepticism about cryptocurrencies.
