Lord of The Rings: Gollum Teaser Video

The Lord of The Rings: Gollum looks fantastic in this teaser

Just a few months after the world was amazed by the footage of a first Unreal Engine demo on the PS5 another long-awaited title gets the treatment of the long-awaited console resolution. The Lord of The Rings: Gollum is a game from Daedalic Entertainment which in this teaser from IGN reveals nothing more than resolution and high level of graphic detail.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

But Daedalic has decided to share details about the game that is expected to come in 2021. The main axis of the game dynamo revolves around stealth mode, a series of secret and insidious actions that suit our protagonist, as it will be a non-combat experience. The player’s decisions will also give direction to the game, extending to what J.R.R Tolkien has already set for Gollum and a story adapted behind the original books.

The game will be divided into levels and segments, some of which are open-world, alternative routes, and secret passages to explore. Pretty much-expected focus on vertical parkour and rich environments inspired by Tolkien’s vision for Middle-earth.

PS5 skins

These PS5 skins will be the most beautiful thing you will see today

In a series of mock-ups for the PS5 compiled by DBLTAP, Xbox Pope has shown what can be made possible with the next-generation special editions

If you spend time collecting special editions of consoles, then the XboxPope designer has something for you. In a series of mock-ups for the PS5 compiled by DBLTAP, Xbox Pope has shown what can be made possible with next-generation special editions. Starting with an Asian-inspired skin for Mortal Kombat, on a console and controller with Ghost of Tsushima, the Xbox Pope is so capable that people are suspecting the designs look too official.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Xbox Pope does not just design for PS5 skins. As his name suggests, Pope has also come up with a number of ideas for Microsoft consoles, including some hypothetical designs for the Xbox Series X and controllers for the Xbox One.

It also has a Fall Guys-themed mock-up for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Crysis Remastered

Crysis Remastered gets a launch date and improved graphics

It will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 18

A new Crysis Remastered trailer has been released online, showing us a little more about how the game has improved visually. The new trailer, which you can watch below, shows some of the game improvements, compared to the original, such as high-quality textures up to 8K, ray tracing, etc.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Along with the trailer, it has also been confirmed that Crysis Remastered will be released on September 18 on PC through the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The press release made by the developers did not mention any kind of full franchise for Epic Games, so it is likely that the game will come to Steam at some point.

Crysis Remastered was originally scheduled for a worldwide launch in July, but the game was further delayed on all platforms, with the exception of the Nintendo Switch, following the bad reaction it had from trailers and screenshots leaked.

Crysis Remastered will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 18th. The game is already available on the Nintendo Switch.

AMD A520 Motherboards

Building a PC becomes cheaper with the launch of AMD A520 motherboards

They offer support for current Ryzen 3000 desktop chips, including XT variants

AMD announced the launch of its new chips including the A520 chip, offering a solution to all those who while building their PCs, also worry about the economic side. The A520 motherboards stand in the AM4 socked and the models will be available from regular manufacturers anywhere in the globe.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

These boards support the current Ryzen 3000 desktop chips, including the XT variants, the recently launched Ryzen 4000-series (Renoir) APUs and will be compatible also with the 4th generation Ryzen (Zen 3) which will be released a little later in 2020, so there is the possibility of upgrading even later.

The A520 motherboards should be available from manufacturers like MSI, ASRock and Asus priced from $100. Quite a friendly move for anyone who is going to build their own setup but is budget limited. While the AMD A520 chips give to entry-level Ryzen PC builders a list of new features compared to older A320 and B450 motherboards, some compromises have to be made.

The biggest compromise may be the lack of PCIe 4.0 compatibility. PCIe 4.0 gives a greater bandwidth when paired to compatible CPUs like Ryzen 3000 series. This means that your A520 chip won’t be able to give the maximum bandwidth of your CPU as a result you will be limited to PCIe 3.0 speeds. This may not be a big deal unless you use a PCIe 4.0 SSD to make use of higher speeds. On the other side, PCIe 4.0 does not matter on the graphics card since a PCIe 3.0 x16 is mother than enough. Should also mention that the new A520 chipset doesn’t support CPU overclocking and this is not a huge deal cos Ryzen 3000-series (codename Matisse) CPUs don’t have much manual overclocking headroom.

Aside for the entry-level (sub $100 US) prices, AMD A520 motherboards have o loot to offer like increased  I/O, support for next-gen Ryzen CPUs & APUs (besides the current ones) so there is path for upgradability, and better quality components, something not seen on older A320 chips. The new chips lands with 26 usable PCIe 3.0 lanes, supports up to four SATA III ports and as for the connectivity can accommodate up to five USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two native USB 3.1 ports, and six native USB 2.0 ports.

Already a handful of motherboards already to go with the new chipset. These include:

  • ASRock A520M Pro4
  • Asus TUF Gaming A520M-Plus
  • Biostar A520MH
  • Gigabyte A520 Aorus Elite
  • MSI MAG A520M Vector Wi-Fi

The device includes two separate screens with 5.6 inches OLED (1800 x 1350) with a ratio of 4:3 that are connected together to form a screen – of an 8.1-inch (2700 x 1800) total workspace with a ratio of 3: 2. Unlike other foldable models like Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, the Surface Duo is using real Gorilla Glass, and the screens are designed to work in a similar way to multiple monitors on a Windows PC.

Microsoft is using the 11MP f/ 2.0 camera, which will include automatic low light modes, multi-frame HDR capture, and a “superzoom” of up to 7x. 4K and 1080p video recordings will be supported at 30fps and 60fps, with electronic image stabilization. There is only one camera in the Surface Duo, which can be used for both video calling and main camera.

The Surface Duo features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal memory. LTE is available on T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon, but there is no support for 5G. Microsoft has been working closely with Google on Android for the Surface Duo. Microsoft had to rely on Android for the reason of mobile applications, especially after Windows Phone failed in the market.

NVIDIA next-gen graphics cards a big hit to AMD

New rumors suggest that NVIDIA is preparing to launch new Ampere graphics cards with the NVIDIA RTX 3000 series. The latest information says that NVIDIA will launch three new graphics cards in September, followed by another in October and the last two of this line, the presentation of which is not known when it will take place.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The big news is NVIDIA’s most powerful new graphics card which will succeed the RTX 2080 Ti with 24GB vRAM. Such an amount of memory can only be rivaled by the super expensive RTX Titan graphics card but on the other hand, thwarts any attempt by AMD to compete with the new Navi graphics which have no more than 16GB vRAM.

The RTX 3080 will come with 24GB of vRAM and a 384-bit bus. The RTX 2080 Super will be replaced by the RTX 3080 with 10GB vRAM and debuts in mid-September. The graphics card that will come in October has 20GB of vRAM. Finally, the two remaining graphics cards will replace the RTX 2070 Super with 8GB and 16GB vRAM.

40% of Android smartphones exposed of spying and data theft

Security researchers at Check Point have found a full 400 security issues in various parts of the code used by the digital signal processor (DSP) on Snapdragon mobile processors. Snapdragon is a chip system that contains several components from the processor, graphics to DSP. The latter is used for several reasons ranging from charging to video and audio recording, augmented reality, and other multimedia functions.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Phone manufacturers can use DSP for dedicated applications that enable certain features. The chip is implemented in at least 40% of smartphones worldwide including high-end devices from Google, OnePlus, and Samsung.

Check Point says hackers can exploit security issues in three ways:

  • Spy. The Android phone can be turned into a spying device and above all, no user intervention is required. Photos are copied, calls are recorded, location is exposed and the microphone is spied.
  • Data Theft. It can be performed in complete silence without the knowledge of the user and can not even be removed by the latter.
  • Phone Damage. The smartphone can be rendered unusable by totally rendering it out of function.

All that is needed according to Check Point is for a hacker to install an application on the victim’s device. The problems were all approved by Qualcomm and given the CVE designations as follows: CVE-2020-11201, CVE-2020-11202, CVE-2020-11206, CVE-2020-11207, CVE-2020-11208 and CVE-2020- 11209.

The chipmaker Snapdragon has notified all smartphone makers and addressed all the problems. All those who have not received the security updates remain exposed. Experts say it will take months maybe years until all Android smartphone users are safe. Check Point did not publish the technical details of the problems to prevent attackers from taking full advantage of them.

Users have no choice but to wait for companies to update their smartphones. Although Qualcomm has released the update, no Android phone has it incorporated yet.
