Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition

Samsung brings what we asked. This is the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition

The S20 Fan Edition is a bridge between the mid-range and the flagship segment

OnePlus has established itself as one of the leading players in the budget smartphone market. Samsung had made the phones quite expensive and lowering their price was not a proper option. So they decided another strategy and this is probably the clearest indication that Samsung is still in competition with the OnePlus.

Long rumored, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is officially announced, and as the name implies, it comes especially for the love of the most ardent fans. Said without romanticism, the FE is a pack of the best options from the Galaxy S20, and through some compromises, comes at a more affordable price for anyone.

The 6.5-inch AMOLED display has a refresh rate of 120Hz but the resolution is limited to Full HD. It also comes with 128GB of internal memory but you can expand it via SD cards up to 1TB. It has the same Snapdragon 865 chip as the S20 flagships, but only 6GB of RAM instead of 12GB. The 4,500 mAh Fast Charge 2.0 battery and IP68 dust and water protection should offer pretty good performance.

Even the rear camera is what you get from a $1,000 Samsung smartphone. The Fan Edition (FE) has a standard 12-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture, dual-pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization. The main sensor is accompanied by a super wide-angle 12-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 30x hybrid as well as a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It certainly does not offer the luxury of the original S20, but the hardware looks quite good, moreover, AI and dedicated software should bring competition results.

The display panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 but the back of the Galaxy S20 FE is made of a tough plastic material that has a matte finish to prevent fingerprints and stains. And to offer more style among S20 FE fans it comes in Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, and Cloud White.

The phone will include both 5G variants, sub-6Ghz, and mmWave 28Ghz priced at $700 and $750 respectively and also has an exclusive Verizon variant that works on the carrier’s 5G Ultra Wideband network.. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be available from October 2 at Samsung.com and at retail stores. Orders can be registered now.

Samsung Fan Edition phones are designed to eliminate the gap between the flagship’s Galaxy S and Note and the mid-range Galaxy A. Samsung has recently suffered with sales and now the Galaxy A51 has managed to enter the list of 10 best-selling smartphones in the first half of 2020. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 11 has sold like crazy and is the smartphone of the year.

Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra Officially Unveiled

Galaxy Unpacked does not disappoint, as always

Never before we have relied so much on technology as today. So we are staying connected as we navigate the tremendous challenges we face around the world.” Said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business of Samsung Electronics.

True, in such days technology must give us a hand that everything in addition to being of better quality must be even faster. And Samsung is trying to do just that as through the Galaxy system ported to the 5 devices introduced yesterday; Galaxy Note 20 and 20 Ultra, Tab S7 and S7+, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Z Fold 2.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

As with the Galaxy S20, Samsung has decided to skip the full 10 numbers to introduce Note 20, the successor to the Note 10. Despite this jump, progress is not as massive as the name suggests and are in fact small improvements in the 6-month cycle among the company flagships. Normally there are some details that make the difference in order for the company to maintain its leading positions.

The Note line, like last year, this year is divided into two models: Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra with prices starting from $1,000 and $1,300 respectively. The phones arrive at a time when people have less money to spend than a year ago and would be more inclined to spend on accessories and laptops as work from home becomes the norm. In fact, in recent years it has been very difficult to sell equipment at prices of 1000+ dollars. However, Note 20 is the standard phone on which every other product is judged.

Note 20 Ultra, Note 20
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (left), Galaxy Note 20 (Right)

Starting with the camera department, the sensor set varies from one to the other device, the Note 20 packs 12MP/64MP/12MP while the Ultra 108MP/12MP/12MP experience. What does this mean?

8K recording at 24fps, all manual, manual focus, exposure, brightness, zoom, and 120fps in FHD to capture cinema levels. The Auto-Focus Laser sensor on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra captures the most detailed autofocus or manual ever super accurate, moreover, Live Focus Video offers the bokeh effect even in video. You can now give direction to the microphone while recording or use Galaxy Buds Live for more professional quality, which no matter how noisy it is around, it will offer crystal clear recording.

Both phones have added between 10 and 30 grams. They store the same triple-camera system of the Galaxy S20 while Note 20 Ultra has taken almost everything from the S20 Ultra. The same 108-megapixel camera was used but this time with 50x hybrid and 5x optical zoom. The standard variant has 30x hybrid and 3x optical. The Ultra model has a Laser autofocus while the standard Note 20 has a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. Both can record 8K video.

Note 20 Ultra

Note 20 Ultra is the best model. The front and back are made of the new Gorilla Glass Victus. The hardware buttons have been moved from left to right to make room for the new camera module. It has 5G, 12GB RAM, 256GB or 512GB storage space. The screen is 6.9 inches tall and supports 120 Hertz. The screen resolution is 3,200×1,440 pixels (WQHD+). The battery is 4500 mAh. With the 25 watt charger included, more than 50 percent of the battery should be able to charge in 30 minutes.

Note 20

The Note 20 Ultra comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal space. The front is Gorilla Glass 5, while the back in plastic. Pack a 4,300 mAh battery. At 6.7 inches, the screen is smaller than that of the Note 20 Ultra. In addition, it does not support 120Hz, but only 60Hz. The resolution is 2,400×1,080 pixels.

Both models offer 5G and will be ship with the latest Snapdragon 865+ or Samsung’s Exynos 990 SoC in different regions. We remind then the Snapdragon 865+ is 10% better than the old Snapdragon 865 chip while Exynos 990 is slightly behind the Snapdragon 865 in terms of CPU performance (6% behind), so it is a bit disappointing seeing Exynos 990 in these 2020 Note 20 models.

The S Pen, of course

The S Pen has been the distinguishing feature of the Note, while others are trying to catch up with it, the Galaxy have to compete with itself so it has done just that by adding the facilities it offers, it can also be used on the Tab S7. Moreover, thanks to the partnership with Microsoft, Note 20 and Windows PC work together very easily. Aside from the fact that notes can be activated anytime and anywhere, not in vain, it is called Note, no S Pen takes control wherever you are regardless of the application you are using, by means of gestures that turn you back, on the recent App, or even at the Home Screen.

The Stylus Pen has now a faster response from 42ms last year to 9ms this year for the Ultra variant. The standard model has an improvement from 42ms to 26 milliseconds.

A special attention this time is dedicated to video games because in 2020 even grandmothers are playing PUBG. Beyond the most powerful performance offered on the market, beyond the dedicated resolution and refresh ratio with a maximum of 120Hz but automatically adaptive for healthier battery and power management, if you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can play directly on your smartphone from a curated bookstore with over 100 games. Minecraft Dungeons, Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 5 are just a few of them.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra Prices and Availability

Both smartphones will be available from August 21st. Note 20 is available in bronze, gray, and green. It costs 949 euros in the 4G version and 1,049 euros in the 5G version.

The Note 20 Ultra will be available in bronze, black and white. The 256GB variant costs 1,299 euros, while the 512GB costs 1,399 euros.

Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Galaxy Z Flip 5G Officially Revealed

Will cost $1,449.99 this time, $70 more than the first

We no longer need to wonder about rumors as Samsung makes it official; Galaxy Z Flip 5G will come on August 7, 2020. At first glance, the device is totally the same as its 4G predecessor, and in fact, apart from 5G waves and the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, nothing has changed.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

However, the support for 5G networks is limited to under 6GHz and there is no support for 5G mmWave. This means that users will only get 20-30% faster speeds compared to 4G/LTE, and will not get the gigabit+ speed that is only possible with 5W mmWave networks.

Samsung has managed to insert a 5G antenna without changing anything externally, but on the other hand, has made adjustments to the system. The “Flex” mode has initially allowed auto programs to be reconfigured to a semi-open screen. YouTube should work properly now with Flex but the camera app should also work from more angles.

The Galaxy Flip was expected to be unveiled at the August 5 event along with Fold and a host of other products, but Samsung seems to be clearing the stage for the real star: Galaxy Note 20.

As for Fold, there are some rumors talking about more significant changes, 5G implementation, new processor, camera improvements, and the same price.

The Samsung Galaxy Flip will go on sale on August 7 in the USA and then across the globe.

Galaxy Note 20 Leak

The Galaxy Note 20 leaks in a 360 degree render

Samsung Galaxy Note 20, which is expected to arrive on August 5, has appeared in a new video posted by Evan Blass’s famous Twitter account, @evleaks, which reveals almost every aspect of this new smartphone.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

As you can see, the Galaxy Note 20 has a screen with a hole in the middle, and on the back three cameras lined up vertically along with the flash on the top-left side. The video also reveals that the “Power” button and the volume buttons are located on the right side, the S Pen on the left side, and the USB-C port on the bottom of the phone.

Beyond the render, we also have front and rear images which you can see below.

The front part shows a very similar design. It seems that for the Galaxy Note 20, Samsung will move towards a flatter display compared to the curved one that other models have had. From the back, it will be the triple camera setup, which reminds us a lot of Galaxy S20 cameras. Anyway, this time they look a bit thicker, so let’s hope Samsung has upgraded the optics in some way.

Samsung Exynos 880

Exynos 880 Samsung’s new processor brings 5G to mid-range smartphones

Designed for smartphones priced at $300-$400

Samsung unveiled a new processor for mid-range smartphones, the Exynos 880 model, and has the power of last year’s most potent Exynos 980 processor that was used in the company’s best smartphones.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The Exynos 880 is built on the FinFET processor with 8-nanometer architecture and has an integrated 5G modem that supports download speeds up to 2.55Gbps and uploading at 1.28Gbp. It even incorporates technology that combines 4G and 5G mobile networks to deliver speeds of up to 3.55Gbps.

Inside are hidden 6 ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2Ghz and six Cortex-A55 low-frequency cores clocked at 1.55Ghz. Mali-G76 MP5 integrated graphics can withstand Full HD+ screens. The processor supports LPDDR4X technology of RAM memory and UFS 2.1 of internal memory.

The biggest difference between the Exynos 880 and last year’s flagship is the support for limited 64-megapixel cameras. Video recording can be done at 30fps in 4K. Finally, this processor is designed for smartphones priced at $300-$400.

Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition

Meet the Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition made for the US Army

S20 Tactical Edition is a reinforced version to serve the military

The advancement of technology goes hand in hand with the reinforcement of the materials it comes with, after all if we pay €1000 for a smartphone it should at least be resistant.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Samsung is not satisfied with the strong composition of the Galaxy S20, so it has brought the S20 Tactical Edition, a reinforced version to serve the military. The device was commissioned by the United States Department of Defense, it can serve in long distances and difficult terrain but also has high-security encryption.

There aren’t many details about the smartphone’s interior changes yet, but it’s seen to be wrapped in a very thick case, and painted with the contours of the American military uniform.

S20 Tactical Edition
S20 Tactical Edition

The Galaxy S20 TE can be connected to army tactical radios and mission systems via Private SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and 3.5Ghz (reserved for Marina satellite communications – land.) Also, this Galaxy has a special setting on the screen, which makes it visible for night glasses as well it has a “stealth mode” as airplane mode but more extreme, which deactivates LTE, and any RF signal.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not list a price for the product, which suggests that we will probably never see it on the market for the consumer.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Leaks

Samsung Galaxy S21 details, 150MP camera, new processor and many other interesting details leaked

The successor to the Galaxy S20 will be called the Galaxy S21 and not the Galaxy S30, as reported by some media

The Galaxy S20 may still be a newcomer to the market, but that doesn’t mean the work isn’t actively developing on its successor, the Galaxy S21, which will get a launch date in the first quarter of 2021.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

So what do we know so far?

Not that much; but we have some information about the camera of the Galaxy S21 and the processor of this new much-rumored premium phone model from Samsung. We’ll get to know more over the coming weeks and months, though leaks are becoming more common.

It is further stated that Samsung Display is now working on the development and production of under-screen (USC) camera panels. The first USC from Samsung Display is rumored to debut with the Galaxy Note 20 later this year, but more conservative predictions claim that it will be saved for the release of the Galaxy S21 in 2021.

Samsung is also believed to be working on a new 150MP rear camera from Nonacell that plans to come with the Galaxy S21.

What’s more, the Snapdragon 865 is the processor of choice for new premium models on Android with high performance. In 2021, or very late in 2020, Qualcomm will use an update to this platform called Snapdragon 875.

Like the 865, it will support 5G and offer powerful support for advanced video games and graphics, as well as 150MP cameras that are expected to come with new models along the way in 2021.

Galaxy A Series

Samsung unveiled new models from the Galaxy A budget line

6 new phones starting from $110

Samsung wants to sell you a Galaxy phone and doesn’t care how much you are willing to pay for one. Two foldable phones and three Galaxy S20 models cost between $1,000 and $2,000.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

If these phones are inaccessible to you, then try one of the six older Galaxy S10 and Note10. They sell for $600 to $1,000. But if you want to pay even less, less than $600, Samsung introduced 6 new phones that start at $110.

Samsung’s new Galaxy line features: A01, A11, A21, A51, A51 5G and A71 5G. Each model has different specifications according to the price but all come with Android and microSd cards for more memory.

Galaxy A01 & A11 ($110 – $180)

At a price of $110, the A01 is the less expensive. It has a 5.7-inch HD 720p display with a “notch” selfie camera. On the back you get a dual camera a main and a depth sensor for portrait photos.

The 3,000 mAh battery can hold in function the phone all day but does not have a fingerprint sensor. With it, you only get 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, so don’t expect to encounter intense apps and games.

If you’re looking for a bigger screen, the A11 is priced at $180. The 6.4-inch screen has a resolution of 720p and instead of a “notch” the phone has a “hole-punch” selfie camera. There’s even a 5-megapixel “ultra-wide” sensor on the rear. The battery is larger than 4,000 mAh and has 32GB of memory. But you are left with 2GB of RAM however there is a fingerprint sensor.

Galaxy A21 and A51 ($250 – $400)

The A21 costs $250 and has a 6.50-inch HD 720p display with a 13-megapixel “hole-punch” selfie camera. The rear camera has four lenses: 16-megapixel main, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, a depth sensor for portrait photos and a macro sensor. The battery, memory and fingerprint scanner remain the same but take advantage of fast charging technology. RAM is 3GB.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The A51 costs $400 and has a 6.5-inch Full HD 1080p display. The phone has a similar system of four A21 cameras but the main sensor is 48-megapixel. The fingerprint sensor is located under the screen just like many Samsung flagships and you get 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with this phone.

Galaxy A51 5G and A71 ($500 – $600)

Samsung has decided to sell another version of the A51 but with a 5G modem in it providing you with faster internet access whenever it becomes available. RAM and battery have higher capacities like 6GB and 4,500 mAh respectively.

Finally comes the A71 5G. It is the most powerful of all models and has a 64-megapixel main camera and a 6.7-inch full HD screen. With this Samsung phone offers 5G technology in the sub-6Ghz band and mmWave. It has the same Exynos 980 processor as the Galaxy A51.
